Welcome to the vibrant social program of DyCOMP/ECCCS! While the conference promises enriching sessions and discussions, we also want to ensure your experience extends beyond the lecture halls. Please note that the following program is tentative and will be refined in due course.

1. Welcome Drink at Castello di Lombardia - September 2nd: Kick off the conference with a touch of Sicilian charm! Join us on the eve of the event for a delightful Welcome Drink at the historic Castello di Lombardia in Enna. Perched majestically atop the hill, this medieval fortress offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Sip on local beverages and mingle with fellow participants in a setting that seamlessly combines history and hospitality.


2. Visit to Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina - September 3rd: Embark on a journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. Immerse yourself in the opulent Roman lifestyle as you explore the remarkably preserved mosaics depicting scenes of daily life, mythology, and exotic animals. This visit promises a captivating glimpse into ancient Roman grandeur, leaving you with lasting memories.


3. Gala Dinner in Enna - September 4th: Experience an evening of culinary excellence at our Gala Dinner in Enna. Indulge in a feast featuring three exquisite options – delectable fish, succulent meat, and flavorsome vegetarian dishes. The venue is carefully chosen to provide a charming ambiance, complemented by the delightful Sicilian cuisine. A night to savor the flavors and forge new connections.

4. Visit to the Valley of Temples in Agrigento - September 5th: Discover the awe-inspiring Valley of Temples in Agrigento, a testament to ancient Greek civilization. Stroll among the well-preserved Doric temples, including the iconic Temple of Concordia, set against a stunning backdrop. This excursion offers a glimpse into Sicily's rich history and architectural wonders.


5. Exploration of Mount Etna - September 6th (Tentative): Weather permitting, we are considering an exciting visit to Mount Etna, one of the world's most active volcanoes. A unique opportunity to witness nature's grandeur, this post-conference adventure will be meticulously planned for your safety and enjoyment.
